This is a pdf knitting pattern, written in English and using standard US terminology, for you to knit a newborn baby beanie photo prop for baby’s first photography session, between 4 and 10 days of age. This is NOT a ready to ship beanie. If you would like me to knit a beanie for you, please message me.

This knitting pattern is also well-suited to knit your reborn or newborn sized doll a hat to add to their wardrobe. Shown on my own reborn doll whose head measures approximately 13” around.

This pattern is well-suited to an intermediate knitter as it is knit in the round, using worsted weight yarn with a 5mm (US8) 30 cm (12”) circular needle, as well as dpns.

You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, knit two stitches together, and purl two stitches together.

My gauge: 17 sts and 23 rows = 10x10 cms.
