Woven cables shopper bag (includes video tutorial).

Difficulty level: Moderately easy
Project duration: Quick

This bag is worked flat in rows to make various rectangle panels before sewing them together:
1) woven panel, 2) inside panel, 3) back panel, and 4) sides with strap. The woven panel is the most difficult bit, but it’s not as scary as it looks and is actually pretty easy when you get the hang of it (VIDEO TUTORIAL INCLUDED FOR WOVEN CABLES). To make the woven design stand out, I used Ella Rae Seasons yarn as it has subtly shifting color changes that makes beautiful gradient transitions. But you can substitute this yarn for a variety of other bulky weight yarn with gradient transitions if you prefer – e.g., Lion Brand Scarfie. The other panels are created with super bulky weight cotton T-shirt yarn to create a strong and sturdy frame for the bag.

Written in full, easy to follow instructions in English (US crochet terms). Step by step instructions are provided, as well as a chart, pictures and a video tutorial for the woven cables stitch panel.
