This pattern is not nearly as hard as it looks. The only stitches used are double crochet, front post double crochet, and back post double crochet. If you are not familiar with the latter, a tutorial should be fairly easy to find online.

As written, you will need about a skein and a half of yarn and the hat will fit the average adult head. This beanie is quite stretchy, but if you need to increase the sizing, each additional stitch at the start will add 8 stitches to your total.

The sparkly yarn is not required, but I do think it gives the hat a fancier touch. I also recommend solid colors. Multi-colored yarn will interfere with the slanted texture.
