Wrap-around crochet cardigan
A wrap-around cardigan can be one of the most useful items in a wardrobe. This is done in half treble (US: half double crochet) with two unusual stitches (front loop double crochet and shallow double crochet), to give you a bit of variety.
I have made this cardigan in two sizes but using the same pattern: one with aran wool and larger needles, the other in dk with smaller hooks. There is some flexibility, because it is wrap around. Take care to check the tension. US and UK patterns available. There is a schematic diagram for the neck as it’s a little tricky, but most of the pattern is written.
Size 8-12: Using DK yarn and 4mm/4.5mm hooks, my htr tension for 10cm square was 13st across and 10.3 rows.
Size 14-18: Using aran yarn and 5mm/6mm hooks, my htr tension for 10cm square was 11.5st across and 9 rows.
You will need:
Approx 600g yarn – aran for larger sizes, dk for smaller. I used a budget yarn and it came out very well.
Crochet hooks in sizes above (adjust according to tension and size)
This is an introductory price as it is a new pattern - please do give feedback! Thank you!
