Wrapezoid
Pattern has been updated as of August 2020 to include metric dimensions, and clarify overall ending heights of the long side. The actual pattern directions have not changed! Current version is V1.3.
This is a versatile trapezoid shaped vest, or wrap, that can be worn in a variety of ways. No Sweater Knitting Experience is Necessary! This is entirely knit in Garter Stitch, and easily customizable to make it your own!I have tried my best to capture many styling options on different body shapes. The purchase includes 2 PDF files: the pattern, and a small “look book” of what some of the testers created and different ways to style the piece.
My test knitters used a variety of yarns to create marled designs. There are 2 options for angled slope (MORE DRAMA and LESS DRAMA) and 6 options for overall width, with the ability to really customize beyond what is given to make it your own.
This knit uses either 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together for a marled look OR 1 strand of DK weight yarn. Pattern testers used a combination of yarns in their projects. Testers were able to create sizes in between these provided sizes as well, simply by working more repeats.
This project includes coloring pages (yesssss!) and fill in boxes for you to write down your own special recipe. The body is worked side to side, and the collar and trim are picked up and knit after. Oh, and did I mention this is entirely done in the knit stitch? True story.
Take a peek at the Schematics in the photos here to get a sense of the overall sizing and yarn amounts needed.

For this size, the fronts are designed longer (body: 420-495g, collar and trim: 280g) Designed to fit sizes 52”-62” (132-157 cm). I am not sure of the model size, but this sample was knit with suggested front measurements, and some dimension added to the back, and I am told that this recipient likes it!
NOTE: The amounts of yarn above indicate what the testers actually used. Some lengthened the body, which accounts for a range of yarn amounts used within this range. Some testers used scraps, some used full skeins, and they all made it work beautifully.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged this project.
