This pattern is suitable for you if you know how to work different kinds of increases and decreases, cables (of 2, 3 and 4 stitches) and pick up stitches on the side of a finished piece, buttonholes (vertical and horizontal).

All my patterns are using Calibri font size 13 in black on white, so they are accessible and easy to read on different screens and when printed. All abbreviations and acronyms are explained in the pattern.

You will get a document that includes:

  • Written instructions in English, using US, UK and metric measurements and needle sizes
  • Chart of the main cable repeat (you can use the written instructions without the chart; this is just here in case you prefer charts)
  • Instructions for 9 different sizes (women and teens from XS to 5XL).
  • Step-by-step instructions for making buttonholes (vertical and horizontal).

You will need:

  • Circular Knitting needles size 4mm / 8 UK / 6 US. (47 to 59 in) that are 120-150 cm long (47 to 59 in).
  • Crochet hook size 3 mm (US C or D, UK 11).
  • Cable needle one size smaller than the knitting needles.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • DK weight yarn. I recommend Merino because it is a little elastic and will make the vest snug around your body.

Approximate yardage:

  • X–Small: 615 metres / 670 yards
  • Small: 700 metres / 765 yards
  • Medium: 780 metres / 855 yards
  • Large: 880 metres / 960 yards
  • X–Large: 980 metres / 1070 yards
  • 2XL: 1080 metres / 1180 yards
  • 3XL: 1175 metres / 1285 yards
  • 4XL: 1260 metres / 1375 yards
  • 5XL: 1340 metres / 1470 yards

Gauge: 21 stitches and 31 rows per 10 cm / 4 inches
