Wrinkled Shell Cloth
A lace cloth pattern to practice an interesting stitch combination dating from the Victorian era in the 1880s, this pattern will be free for just 1 week if you go to my Facebook Page to find the code--please don’t share the code word on Ravelry or elsewhere, so that I get a few visitors to my page ;) I hope you’ll return often as I will be releasing a few more Victorian Summer Lace designs soon--shawls, d’oyleys, cowls, and more.
This is a fairly small cloth--mine is 7 and 1/2 inches square--and doesn’t use much yarn. Any worsted weight cotton in your stash will be fine--I am knitting another using Bernat Handicrafter cotton, you will see photos on Facebook as well as on here.
As usual, if you need any help or find any errors, please let me know. I hope you’ll add the design to your Favourites here on Ravelry if you like it!
EDIT: corrected file sent:
new file clarifies the ‘s’ slipped stitch: unless otherwise noted, slip purlwise with yarn at back; but in the “s, k2, psso the 2 knit sts” you must slip purlwise with yarn at front--this is to keep the previous yarn over!
Sorry if there was confusion.
Happy knitting, Wendy
