Say hello to your new favorite accessory, the Writer’s Block Shawl!

This is a fingering weight, slightly asymmetrical shawl that alternates both colors and solid and mesh sections throughout. It’s the perfect project to use up single fingering weight skeins, but can also be worked up in a sold color or in many colors! If you’re an adventurous crocheter, you’ll love the extended stitches that are featured in this project.

This shawl is named for what I experienced while writing the pattern. I had a mad case of writer’s block with this one! While I had an idea of what I wanted this shawl to become, I had trouble bringing it to life. As you can see, I finally found some inspiration and worked through that slump, and out of it came one of my favorite designs.

Project level - Intermediate

I consider this an intermediate level pattern because you will use techniques and skills such as gauge swatching, blocking, changing colors, magic circle, and extended crochet stiches. While I would consider this an intermediate level pattern, an adventurous beginner could likely make this project if they are willing to learn a few new stitches/techniques.

Gauge instructions and special stitch instructions are provided in the pattern. The printable PDF pattern also includes a row and stitch count chart to help with progress tracking.
