Wunderbar
The name of this pullover isn’t meant to make you think of a chocolate bar - Wunderbar is a German word that means wonderful or marvelous. I figured since the yarn that inspired this design was German and the design uses German short rows throughout, the name should be German too.
This pullover is all about short rows and simple stripes with colour-changing yarn. Triangles or wedges are formed by using short rows, then a diagonal line to finish the wedge. The second half of the wedge is then worked to complete a rectangle. Because of the colour changes in the yarn, the stripes on either side of the diagonal line will be different colours. The pullover can also be knit with one solid yarn, and one colour-changing yarn, as in the grey and light blue sample.
The front and back are worked flat from the bottom up. The shoulder and sides are then seamed together. The sleeves are picked up from the yoke edge, then worked from the top down.
