WWII Inspired Gloves
This pattern was inspired by an original WWII era pattern for gloves for the servicemen. I was looking for some gloves that were basic, durable, warm and something I wouldn’t be afraid to get roughed up. What better place to start than a pattern that had the same requirements for servicemen?
The great thing about this pattern is that it’s flexible. If you want them to be full gloves, just keep working the fingers to the length you need. If you want a mitt (or ½ mitt) instead of fingers, you can just keep working in the round and bind off at the length you desire. If you want the wrist length longer, then make it longer. It can easily adapt to how you want it to look and function.
The pattern includes photo tutorials for increases, and picking up stitches.
It works up well in either worsted or aran weight yarns.
