X-Country Cowl
The X-Country Cowl was originally published as part of the design collection for the12th annual Red Scarf scholarship fundraiser, a Knitspot fundraiser for young people aging out of the foster care system.
This design is a tubular Moebius cowl with a half-twist, nice and comfy around the neck! Please note this pattern has both written and charted instructions. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, or yardage requirement.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Circumference: 30 inches
Width (across doubled fabric): 9 inches
GAUGE:
22 sts and 28 rnds = 4”/10cm on gauge size needles (over blocked colorwork pattern).
NEEDLES:
US size 5 3.75mm circular needle, plus 1 extra needle for grafting. This can be the same size, or 1 size smaller. Choose needles based on your preferred method for working small circumferences in the round.
YARN: Bare Naked Wools Finn Dandy Sport in 2 colors, a light and a dark, or a similar sport-weight wool yarn.
300-325 yards of each color are required.
NOTIONS: stitch marker, tapestry needle, smooth waste yarn for provisional cast-on, crochet hook (optional—for provisional cast-on)
