A quick to knit beanie style hat with rolled edge and ribbing to keep it from blowing off in the wind. The added interest of the X is created at the top using simple back-to-back decreases.

The hat is knit in the round mostly in stockinette so if you’re not a fan of purling, there’s only purling in the brief ribbed portion.

The beanie can easily be converted to a slouchy style just by knitting additional rounds in the stockinette body of the hat.
