X-quisite Gradients Shawl
Gradients---So much fun! After seeing the Katia Ombre 6 packs I designed this shawl with a couple of things in mind, have fun with the color, minimum wastage, ease of blocking. I used 2 packs of the Katia to get a good size shawl, 19” by 83”. That works.
The cast on is 354 stitches, very manageable. As I came to the end of a skein I simply wet-spliced the next skein in. No wastage, No weaving in 24 loose ends. I averaged 14 - 15 rows per skein and have included areas in the pattern for adjustment depending on your knitting tension.
Blocking is a must to get the most out of the yarn, showing off the lace patterns but also getting the dimensions. Slipped stitches at the beginning of each row and a row of yo/k2tog along the top edge make it easy to weave in blocking wires, then pinning out the scallops along the bottom edge.
#5 Circular Needle, 24” is the only other thing you will need, except, don’t forget the pattern!
Shawl is knit from the bottom up, no seams. Pattern is in chart only.
