The beauty of this pattern is the hidden message of love in the Xs and Os. Use red or pink to show it, or use another colour to hide the message.

This pattern is written as one size but does have stretch. As written, the hat is around 21 inches in circumference and 9.5 inches in length. The mittens are 8 inches in circumference and 10 inches in length.

This hat and mitten set was knit using Aran weight yarn (8 wpi). If you use another weight yarn (eg. worsted) or are a tight knitter, make sure you make adjustments to the the pattern, perhaps a larger needle or your hat may come out too small.

The hat and the mittens were made using stranded knitting. There are only two colours used in the pattern. At times, you may need to carry a float along the back of the work. It is an easy chart to follow with short repeats. It should be a fairly quick knit.
