CONSTRUCTION
Xyla begins with a cast-on for the center section, which is worked first. Once complete, the stitches are placed on hold, and stitches are picked up along one side to create the left wing. The left wing is worked sideways and shaped with decreases. Afterwards, the right wing is worked in a mirrored fashion. Finally, stitches are picked up along the wings, and the border is worked down to the lower edge.

YARN
Fingering weight yarn with good elasticity. Wool or wool blends are ideal.

MC approx 650 m / 715 yards
CC1 approx 410 m / 450 yards
CC2 approx 250 m / 275 yards (without tassels)
The tassels take approx 55 m / 60 yards of yarn.

NEEDLES
Needle A One 100 cm / 40” (or longer) circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed.
Suggested needle size: 3.5 mm / US #4.
Needle B (for the cast on edge of the center panel)
One 60 cm / 25” circular needle.
Suggested needle size: 3.25 mm / US #3.

GAUGE
Measured after blocking.
