This is a pattern for a light and lacy stole. The feature stitch comes to us from Japan, and is a very unique twist and lace stitch. It also contains smocking.
This stole can be knitted with heavy fingering weight yarn and/or sport weight yarn. The stole is approximately 17 inches x 72 inches, but can be altered as state below, and, as shown, requires approximately 800 - 1000 yards. There are instructions for knitting an 8 inch scarf and a 25 inch shawl.
The stitches are charted ONLY.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of lace knitting.)
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged.
The stole was expertly tested by Gay Fehr, who can be contacted at grf1956@gmail.com, and was knit using Handmaiden’s/Fleece Artist’s Casbah yarn, undyed.
The pattern is for sale here on Ravelry and in my Etsy Shop in the Shawls/Stoles/Scarves section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=...)
