Yak's Fingerless Mitts for Little Yaks
This is a simple knitting pattern for child to medium-adult size fingerless mitts. It is pretty bare bones as knitting patterns go, and assumes you know basic terminology. I leave the specific method of stitch increases up to you. But it’s nicer than many children’s mitt patterns out there in that there is thumb gusset shaping to it. This results in a very nice fit and a more professional look. It’s a fast knit and a great last-minute gift option since it’s made up in bulky yarn.
One skein of Bernat Alpaca is plenty for a pair of smalls (24 stitch cast on) or mediums (28 stitch cast on). I haven’t knitted up a pair with a 32 stitch cast on but if you are making this largest size you might want to hedge your bets and have a second skein of yarn on hand. You would have enough to make one small and one large out of two skeins of the yarn.
