update 02/16: japanese translation now available

Yanis is worked seamlessly from the top down. First some short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck and then the yoke is worked top down to sleeve separation. Some last short rows are worked to finish the yoke shaping right before sleeve stitches are placed on hold, then the cropped body is worked in rounds down to the contrast colored hem. Sleeves (short or long) are worked top down to the cuffs last.

Gauge
20 sts x 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) square in Stockinette stitch on larger needle after blocking.
Due to variance between knitters, color work should be swatched to determine whether to change needle size to keep gauge consistent.

Note about choosing the ‘right’ size: In case your shoulder ‘frame’ is rather smallish in relation to your bust circumference, it is recommended to start with a smaller size and adjust the stitch count to the size that would comfortably fit your bust AFTER the colorwork part of the pattern.
For example: We had testers starting with e.g. size 5, adjusting to size 6 or 7 after the colorwork
