Yarn Snob
This spectacular cabled brim beanie is knitted in the round, first with size 5 16-inch circular needles, and then, size 6 16-inch circular needles. This pattern features 4 different graphs/sayings: YARN SNOB, I LOVE YARN, YARNITUDE, AND YARN HO (for Gaye Glasspie, of course!)
It also has added instructions for (optional) beaded triple cables within the brim, (optional) beaded decreases, and special instructions for additional needle sizes and yarn weights, and hat sizing (fitted and slouchy).
Another wonderful thing about this one-size-fits-all hat is that the only thing that really matters is the gauge. With that said, Fingering weight: 2 strands need to be held and knitted together. One skein is enough for one hat, but you will need a contrasting color, as well. This is also a great hat for using up some of that scrap yarn you have!
Materials needed: size 5 AND size 6 16-inch circular needles, size 6 double-pointed needles, a cable needle, a stranding needle (or crochet hook, if that is your beading method of choice), 33 glass beads (size 6) for the (optional) beaded cables within the brim, and 168 glass beads (size 6) for the (optional) beaded decreases.
The gauge should be 5-6 stitches per inch, and 6-7 rounds per inch.
