Yaw: To move slightly off course.

I love self stripe yarns but sometimes I’m left wanting more from my sock knitting than endless rounds of stocking stitch, nothing too complex just a slight deviation from the norm. The distorted stripes of Yaw add a little bit of interest to the knitting, great colour pattering and slight texture to your self stripe socks.

This flexible pattern works with the colour changes so is easily adaptable for any self-stripe yarn. The cuff, heel and toe are knitted in contrast yarn to let the stripes take centre stage. The heel is created using a band heel, meaning there is no gusset to affect the gorgeous stripes and the toe is finished with slightly unusual hat style decreases for a beautiful shape.
