Yaya Cable Headband
This easy, quick to knit headband is worked with one hank of Mirasol Yaya, a fantastically soft super wash, super bulky, single ply merino yarn. Combining seed stitch and a simple cable, the headband is worked flat and then seamed for a perfect fit. Or, feel free to skip the seam and fasten with a button; just add a yarnover buttonhole in the row before bind off.
Mirasol Yaya, one hank (100 grams, 54 yards) Sample is shown in color 1516 Solaris
US size 11 needle, or size needed for gauge – since this is knit flat, you may use straight needles or knit back and forth on a circular. Your fabric should be fairly tight so your headband is warm and won’t stretch out.
Cable needle
Gauge: 14 stitches over 4 inches, in pattern
Finished dimensions: Width = 4.5 inches. Length or circumference is up to you, knit to desired size. Plan on 3-4 inches less than actual head measurement so the headband can stretch for a snug fit.
