The year 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. These mitts, featuring a sinuous Asian dragon, honor and welcome the inspiring symbol of abundance and good fortune into your life. Challenge yourself with a fresh new continuous cable pattern. Side-by-side charted and written instructions will guide you every step of the way.

The model shown used about 3/4 of a skein of SimpliNatural by HiKoo, a soft, lofty, Aran yarn in a lovely blend of alpaca, merino, and silk. A 100g skein of similar-weight yarn (about 180 yds/167 m) will give you plenty of yarn for one pair.

You will also need:

  • Size 5 (3.75 mm) and size 6 (4 mm) circulars at least 36” for magic loop or two circulars 16” or longer of each size for knitting in the round on two circulars. DPNs may be used if long enough to place the stitches for the back of the hand onto one needle.
  • 2 stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Finished circumference around the hand is about 7” (~18 cm). Feel free to adjust gauge for a personal fit, allowing about ½” (~1.25 cm) negative ease.
