Yell Sound Shawl
Yell Sound Shawl is knit using garter based lace stitches of Shetland Island origin. The lace patterns taper at each end to a tasseled point. The body is largely a solid garter stitch where the shaping takes place in the form of Make 1, and K2tog. One of the nice aspects to this shawl, no right or wrong side. Looks great both ways.
Have fun with color in this one. I used 12 skeins, 6 gradating colors of Katia Ombre yarn. Change up the color, start with the dark, or go from dark to light, use each skein separately and have 12 color changes. Lots of options….or how about one of the many wonderful colorways available.
The pattern is chart only and the experienced knitter will have no trouble. Work is side to side and blocking is a must. Materials needed: 1100 yds. Sport weight yarn, #5 knitting needles, and a stitch marker.
