Utilizing a a technique I call Stranded Marling, the YesSurii Cowl incorporates suri alpaca fiber with some stitches, but not others, resulting in a spray of color that pops with eye-catching texture. Floats of the baby suri on the “wrong side” line the inside of the cowl with a baby-soft lining that keeps you warm and comfortable in the cold.

Total Yardage measurements for Sizes 20” (22”, 24”, 26”) are:
MC (DK Yarn): 155 (165, 175, 185) yds
CC (Melted Suri): 80 (85, 90, 95)
One 175m skein of Qing Melted Suri is enough yarn for 2 cowls.

Stranded marling can be worked with both yarns in one hand, alternating between which stitches require just the DK yarn, and which stitches will be knit with the DK and Suri held together. One can work this similarly to stranded colorwork in which the (CC) Melted Suri is held in the left hand, and only picked up with the MC (DK) for marled stitches.

3 Options exist here for Marling, since these stitches are a combination of MC and CC, you can orient the CC to the left of these stitches for a bold, mainly CC dominant stitch on the RS, to the right for a more subdued look, or hold the yarns together when you knit Marled stitches for random alignment.
