Ying the Snake
Ying (英 – meaning “wise” or “flower”) is a Chinese green tree viper from the forests of Southern China. Like those born in the Year of the Snake, she is cautious and introverted, but also wise, sensitive and passionate. She hopes she can offer you guidance to achieve your goals in the year to come!
Pattern made for Chinese New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake)
For this pattern you will need:
- 45g light green DK yarn
- 15g yellow DK yarn
- Around 5.5 m white DK yarn
- Around 60 cm pale red DK yarn
- Small amount of black yarn
- 3.5 mm crochet hook (UK 9, US E/4)
- 18 mm safety eyes
- Stuffing
- Scissors
- 56 cm craft wire and cutters (optional)
- Darning needle
- Any crochet hook smaller than 3.5 mm to weave in loose ends
- Stitch markers to keep track of the end of your most recent round (and how many rounds you’ve completed)
Difficulty: no complex stitches. Optionally involves the use of craft wire.
