This is a hat based on the flying bison Appa from the animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” The pattern can be altered to make an Aang hat.

Pattern is charted and was originally based on Racebending.com’s Appa Hat with variations.

Size 8 needles are for the ribbing and Size 4 needles are for picking up stitches for the horns, the rest of the hat is done in size 10.5 needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
