Yippie K'Yeti
Yippie K’Yeti is a jolly yeti, a cryptid creature with white woolly fur that lives in the Himalayan mountains near the snow line. When he found out there actually is a holiday that celebrates monsters like him, he decided to put on his little knapsack and fare west to vacation with his chummy cousin, Bigfoot. As he did not come through the tricky trek wholly unscathed, his Halloween look is already sorted!
Yippie K’Yeti stands 15 cm tall and is a fun and fast project, easy to medium difficult, made on 2.50 mm (US 1.5) double pointed needles in Scheepjes Softy (479) beige (with a strand of DMC E940 glow-in-the-dark added) and rugged looking Rowan Felted Tweed (157) camel. His knapsack was done in Rowan Felted Tweed (175) cinnamon.
As decorating Yippie is the best part of the project, use your favorite scraps of yarn to make the smaller parts!
There is knitting flat and in the round, redistribution of stitches (clarified through schematics) and i-cord knitting.
At night-time Yippie has a little surprise in store: HE GLOWS IN THE DARK! Yarn brands like DMC and Gütermann have luminescent yarns in their collections.
This year, why not give Yippie K’Yeti a safe and snug home and maybe take him trick-or-treating to lift his spirits?
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, Viv
