Taking inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence, I have developed the Yo Fibonacci Shawl and a smaller version, Yo Fibonacci Shawlette. If the Yo Fibonacci Shawl(ette) is knit in a cotton blend, perfect for cool spring and summer evenings. If knit in blended wool, great for the blustery winter. The shawl is designed with Right Side Rows: Working with the beginning numbers of the Fibonacci sequence: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, alternating between row sets of knit, and row sets of yo,k2tog. Wrong Side Rows: Knit.
The shawl is worked with two stitches increased on one edge, and one decreased on the other, creating an asymmetrical crescent shawl with plenty of wingspan, making the shawl(ette) very versatile as a cowl, wrap, or scarf.
This might be considered an advance beginner pattern because knowledge of stitch and shawl construction are helpful. It takes a few evenings or weekends to complete, making the Yo Fibonacci Shawl(ette) a perfect gift or accessory.
