YOSHA – is short for „Yoke Shawl“ – the huge half-circle-shaped shawl is made like a classic stranded colourwork yoke sweater => in the round with a steek. After cutting the steek the inner part will be “filled” with short rows and then the whole shawl will be “framed” with a double border which frames the steek stitches like a sandwich.
It`s all about the yarn => rustic Nutiden by Honor och Eir. It is extra special, a pre-yarn, natural, sheepy but soft at the same time. Using this yarn – or Istex Plötulopi which is a good alternative – it becomes really lightweight, the original is 270 grams only. But you can of course use the yarn of your choice. You will need appr. 900 m / 990 yards of colour A and 600 m / 660 yards of colour B. Please check my lovely testknitter´s versions made from all kind of yarns.

YOSHA – steht für „Yoke Shawl“ => das große halbkreisförmige Tuch wird wie ein klassischer Pullover mit „Yoke“ gearbeitet, in Runden und mit einem zusätzlichen Steek. Nachdem der Steek aufgeschnitten wurde, wird der innere Teil mit verkürzten Reihen aufgefüllt. Abschließend erhält das Tuch eine doppelte Bordüre, die die Steekmaschen wie ein Sandwich einschließt.

Das Original ist aus einem besonderen Garn gestrickt => Nutiden von Honor och Eir, ein unversponnenes „Vorgarn“, rustikal, natürlich und sehr leicht .
Mit diesem Garn – oder mit Istex Plötulopi , das eine gute Alternative darstellt – wird das Tuch ein Leichtgewicht – das Original wiegt nur 270 Gramm. Aber natürlich kann es auch aus jedem anderen Garn nachgearbeitet werden … (man benötigt ca. 900 m von Farbe A und ca. 600 m von Farbe B) … all die wunderschönen Tücher meiner tollen Testknitter sind ein Beweis dafür.
