"You Glow Girl" Top and Skirt
Written for a mid-gauge knitting machine (I used my LK150). For the hand knitting version of this design go here! For just the Top, go here.
1270 (1325, 1380, 1435, 1490, 1545) (1600, 1655, 1710, 1765) yards / 1160 (1210, 1260, 1310, 1360, 1410) (1465, 1515, 1565, 1615) meters of Worsted Weight Yarn to fit a 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42) (44, 46, 48, 50) in Bust / 34 (36, 38, 40, 42, 44) (46, 48, 50, 52) in Hips.
Glimmer and glow in this glamorous 2 piece set! Knit with Lion Brand “Date Nights”, you are sure to shine in this stunning ensemble. The sweater top couldn’t be any more adorable with its elegant puff sleeves and charming keyhole back, and it even has a coordinating skirt! For a more casual retro look, this set can also be made with sans-sparkle acrylic or wool.
This duo is designed to be totally customizable to suit your unique preferences and make it your own. The neckline can be started on any row if you would like to make it higher for more modesty, the top and sleeves can be made as long as you like for your preferred coverage, and the skirt length is made custom to you. The keyhole is optional as well and can easily be made larger or smaller with guidance in the pattern.
The sleeve is magical in that it is super easy to seam on! I designed it so that it fits perfectly into the shoulder and you can just seam it on without any special placement, and I even have a video showing you how I do it. The skirt waistband is knitted at an extra small tension so that it will stay up on your waist, and guidance is offered if you would like to add elastic for extra reinforcement.
This pattern is designed for the beginner machine knitter, and is filled with up close photos and explanations of all techniques used. I’ve also got a 5 part video series walking you through every step so you can make it alongside me! Check it out here: https://youtu.be/TYv8dUq5GNo
Enjoy!
