You Raised a Vampire! is a a triangle-shawl-based cowl with plenty of interesting construction aspects. It combines blocky triangle shapes and subtle 2-color stripes to get you ready for the upcoming fall season. And the sides/sections of the cowl are different enough to give it a little bit of a chameleon aspect—lizard fashion?—in that the look changes dramatically depending on how you arrange it.

Materials:

• Fingering-weight/sockweight yarn, about 210 yds C1 and 250-315yds C2, sample shown in C1: attractive craft store multi yarn with no label and C2: Knitpicks Gloss Fingering in black
• 1 24-48” circular needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge. Knitting is flat, so use what’s comfortable!
• Tapestry needle
• Removable stitch markers

Gauge:
Gauge is 22 sts and 46 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat and blocked.

Measurements:
As shown, this cowl measures 12”/30cm tall and about 24”/60cm in circumference. Measured flat, it’s virtually square.
