You Said It Was A Ghost Story
It’s You. It’s Me. It’s Us.
These toe-up socks are inspired by The Haunting of Bly Manor - a retelling of Henry James’ classic work, “A Turn of the Screw”. Worked holding both a strand of mohair lace and a strand of fingering yarn, the socks are reminiscent of the protagonist’s iconic purple brioche sweater. Ribbed cables found on the back of the leg, are a nod to the turning of the screw.
The unique lace pattern is placed a little bit offset on the sock, but the pattern itself is a custom stitch by Naomi Parkhurst who has coded the word “boundary” into the lace pattern - suggesting the bleeding over of different worlds, time, dreams, and memories. At times, the lace can appear like faces, hearts, or just the random ripples of water on a lonely lake.
