Youghiogheny is a river that is a tributary to the Monongahela and means ‘water which flows in a contradictory direction.’ This poncho is a sister to Monongahela and the stitches in most versions are first knit up flat and then joined to change their direction to knit in the round. It is the round neckline, pictured on the bottom that is knit entirely in the round.

You may choose from 3 necklines: standard, smaller (both of which are surplice necklines), or round. The yardage for each of these varies as each has a different number of repeats. You may also add or subtract repeats if you desire.

I made a demo video showing the various ways that this poncho can be worn, it’s a little silly. Anyway, this isn’t a standard blanket poncho, it’s fancier.
