Lovely pouch with tassel closing, textile lining and heart elements on both sides- a chance to practice basic fair isle aka stranded knitting technique and make cute yet practical bag for warm thoughts, good memories and big dreams.

construction
The pouch is made of two knitted squares (white stocking stitch background with red fair isle heart shapes, all framed with garter stitch), which are then lined with red cotton textile and assembled into a bag shape. Decorative edges and red twisted cords with tassels are added for the final touch.

materials and tools
The sample for this pattern is made of sport weight yarn. You will need
about 80 m/ yd of white yarn for the pouch’s front and back,
about 15 m/ yd of red yarn for the hearts, edging and tassels.

You will need 4 mm/ US 6/ UK 8 straight or circular knitting needles as well as darning needle, sewing needle and white cotton sewing thread.
The lining is made of red cotton fabric 42 cm x 22 cm/ 16 1/2 in x 8 5/8 in.

Two stitch markers might be useful in separating the garter stitch frame parts from the centre pattern.

sizes and instruction types
The pattern includes links to video tutorials in Polish (basics of knitting), charted instructions for the front and back part, photo-tutorial style instructions for the lining, sewing, finishing and assembling the pouch, as well as written instructions added in between where needed.

Lining is optional. If you decide on making it, I assume that you know how to hand sew; there are no detailed instructions on sewing techniques in this pattern.

The finished pouch is about 22 cm x 22 cm / 8.5 in x 8.5 in.
The inside space is a bit smaller due to the lining.

difficulty of the pattern: 2/5
You need to be at least familiar with stranded knitting technique (fair isle); as long as you are not scared of working with two strands of yarn, you are good to go.
In order to follow instructions for the lining, you need to have basic hand sewing skills.
