The Mindless KAL begins October 15, 2021!

Your Slip is Showing is an opportunity to make a large statement piece using a simple slipped stitch technique. It is a boomerang shaped shawl, which is meditative to knit as it flows from one color combination to the next in twelve different sections. It uses four different colors of yarn and lends itself well to speckles, tonals or variegated colors, fade sets, or gradient colors. There is a schematic that allows you to plan your shawl colors using colored pens; use it to determine which color will show up at the beginning, middle and end of your project. Directions for this are described in the pattern. Or just do it any ol’ way that you want!

Materials
Four skeins of fingering weight yarn (400 yards, 100g)

Approximate Yarn amounts
A - 200 yards
B - 300 yards
C - 300 yards
D - 340 yards

Needles
For single ply yarn - US 4 (for single plied), and US 3 (for border)
For plied Sock yarn - US 5 or 6 (different people get different gauge) and US 5 or 4 (for border)

Measurements
84” at neck edge by 16” at deepest portion

Points to consider when planning your shawl

1. There is a schematic available as a separate file. Download it and color it in.
2. Sections 1-5: A is the prominent color (the right tip of your shawl.)
3. Sections 6-10: D is the prominent color(seen when you wrap it around yourself.)
4. Sections 11 and 12: C is the prominent color
5. Once you are familiar with the pattern, refer to the table at the end for the color orders.
