Keep Going Mimi, You’re Almost at the Moon

This little pattern is dedicated to our sweet Golden Comet hen Mimi, who we lost in June 2016. Her comb flopped sassily to the left, she was our resident food thief, she loved yogurt and she always had to fly and be on top…..the higher, the better. The name of the pattern comes from a photo that my son took of Mimi in flight and he titled the picture, “Keep going Mimi, you’re almost at the moon.” She was our pet and we loved her very much. We will miss her dearly!

The hat features a stitch of knits and purls that continue to spiral and climb to the top. The stitch is completely reversible, so you can simply change your hat depending on your mood! As a reminder, no matter where your climb in life takes you, just keep going….persevere….you’re almost at the moon!

Materials
Yarn:
Malabrigo Mecha-1 skein=130 yards/100 grams or approximately 126 yards of a bulky weight yarn
Sample knit in Archangel
Needles:
US 8/5.0 mm 16 inch circular needle
US 8/5.0 mm double pointed needles
(or as required to meet gauge)
Gauge: 18 sts=4 inches
