The YPSsweater women is, like its little kids’ version, an everyday favorite wardrobe staple, easy to style and easy to wear. The name YPS is short for Ypsilon (the German word for the letter “Y”, as the YPStop reminds of this letter) and it’s part of the Yps-Capsule-Collection (»for adults: YPStop, YPScardigan, for kids: YPSdress, YPScardigan)

The construction is unique, it’s worked bottom up, starting with a split hem, next the body is worked in the round, then separated at the underarm to shape back and fronts using short rows. Then, stitches for the sleeves are cast on and worked together with the upper fronts and back in garter stitch to be joined at shoulders with the 3-needle method (or grafting). Pattern contains optional instructions for using the hybrid method for working the upper part first and finishing the sweater top down. Helpful schematic sketches are provided for the unique instructions. Pattern includes options for wide or narrow sleeves.

Der YPSsweater women ist, genau wie die passende Kindervariante, ein Pullover für jeden Tag und viele Gelegenheiten und hat mit Sicherheit Potenzial zum Lieblingspullover zu werden.
Der Name YPS, ist kurz für Ypsilon, weil das YPStop, das erste Teil der YPSserie aussieht wie ein Ypsilon. Inzwischen umfasst die YPSserie einige Designs für Erwachsene (YPStop, YPScardigan) und auch für Kinder (YPS-dress, YPScardigan).
Die Konstruktion macht den Pullover besonders. Man startet von unten mit dem geteilten Saum, arbeitet den Körper in der Runde, teilt in Vorder- und Rückenteil auf, formt Dreiecke mit Hilfe verkürzten Reihen, nimmt mit dem provisorischen Anschlag Maschen für den Unterarm auf, arbeitet nacheinander Ärmel und Vorderteil, erst links, dann rechts, dann hintere Ärmel und Rückenteil in einem Stück, anschließen werden die Schulternähte geschlossen. Die Ärmel können wahlweise, weit oder schmal und mit oder ohne Bündchen gearbeitet werden. Außerdem kann der Pullover auch mit Hilfe der HYBRID METHODE von oben nach unten gearbeitet werden.

NADELN
Rundstricknadeln, mit denen ihr die Maschenprobe erreicht (gewaschen und gespannt): empfohlen sind 4,5 mm (US 7) mit einer Länge von mindestens 100 cm, sowie eine kleinere Nadel (für die optionalen Bündchen) 3,5 mm (US 4), Seillänge etwa 60 cm
Eine zusätzliche Nadel ähnlicher Größe falls die Oberarmnaht mit der 3-Nadel Methode abgekettet wird (Alternative ist der Maschenstich)
