Yuletide Rose Mittens
A beautiful vintage pair of mittens to wear all winter long. These mittens feature beautiful roses framed in vines, a lovely chevron lace cuff, and an afterthought thumb for uninterrupted color work. Since they are knit in worsted weight yarn, they work up very quickly. Perfect for a last minute gift!
Materials Needed:
• Light worsted weight yarn in 2
colors (less than 100g of each will
be used)
• Recommended needle sizes:
o US size 5 circular needles—
for a Ladies’ size Small
Gauge: 5 ½ sts per 1 inch
(6 sts in height)
o US size 6 circular needles –
for a Ladies’ size
Large/Medium
Gauge: 6 sts per 1 inch (6
sts in height)
• Scrap yarn
• Tapestry Needle
• Removable stitch marker or 2
stitch marker rings
Skill Level: Intermediate
Skills Required: Knit, purl, knit in the
round, stranded colorwork, afterthought
thumb, yarn over, increasing,
decreasing, carrying floats
