Yuletide Scarf
I designed the Yuletide Scarf to be the perfect project to work on throughout the festive season.
It is knitted using a mini skein advent calendar, without any leftovers. The amount of knitting each day is very achievable, so by Christmas Day you will have a beautiful completed scarf!
The scarf is knitted in the round on a short circular needle, so it makes a wonderful beginner project. It is also a very relaxing design for a more experienced knitter.
The yarn is held double to give a super squishy and cosy fabric. This means knitting through a full 20g mini skein each day is no problem at all.
The Yuletide Scarf makes the perfect gift, so go ahead and pull out those stashed yarn advent calendars and cast on!!
Scarf Details
The scarf is knitted in the round, with your yarn held double. It is designed to use a yarn advent calendar, plus a contrast yarn. You could of course use leftovers from your stash if you prefer.
The pattern contains 4 video tutorials, including my method of knitting in a tube. This really makes the knitting fly!
Size
The completed scarf measures 73 inches (195cm) long and 9.5 inches (24 cm) wide.
Yarn
I have knitted 2 samples for this design, with the following yarns -
Beaches and Birdsong Advent Calendar 2023 - ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’. The contrast yarn was Eden Cottage Yarn Milburn 4 ply in ‘Black Tulip’
Beehive Yarns Advent Calendar 2023 - ‘Patisserie’. The contrast yarn was Malabrigo Sock in ‘Violetta Africana’.
As the scarf is knitted using fingering weight held double, you could substitute with a DK weight yarn of the same yardage if you prefer.
