While this hat starts out like many others, it is distinguished by its “rafters” on the top, hence the name. These rafters are created by inserting I-cord into the knitting. At the end of the hat, you have the option of having a smooth top, or continuing the inserted I-cord for tassels. The original hat was of handspun - colored hat was Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted.
