Zahara - Greek for ‘radiance’ - is a delicate lace and ribbed cowl which features a pointed lace edge at the hem. The same lace pattern is then used as a panel between sections of ribbing, before the neckline is completed with more ribbing and a rolled, stocking stitch edge.

Worked in the round from the bottom up and suitable for knitters with some experience, the lace pattern is both charted and written in full.

The pattern is designed in a single size, with circumference at the hem edge approximately 71cm (28 inches). The length from the neck edge to the hem is approximately 27cm (10 1/2 inches).

My sample was worked using mini-skeins of laceweight yarn in three different colourways shading from dark to lighter tones - but the design could also be worked in a single colour if preferred. My sample used a total of approximately 45g/360m.

There is a matching hat design available, worked in the same yarn and lace pattern.
