Zambra
Zambra, a perfect accessory for walks on the beach during long summer evenings, is presented in two shapes: a rectangular stole and a crescent wrap.
The stole is worked seamlessly in a single color of soft merino yarn from a temporary cast on to both ends, starting with openwork pattern and ending with wide textured lace edgings.
The crescent is worked in three shades of pure linen yarn, from the top down, beginning with a set of simple stockinette short rows and ending with the deep lace border. Although the lace borders may seem complicated, they use only basic stitches throughout that makes them very easy to knit.
Both shapes can be worked successfully in a single color, see the stole sample in Fern Green, or using three closely-related colors like the crescent sample in Steel Grey, Cloud Grey, and Cream. Yardage used for the three-color crescent sample:
165 yards dark color
220 yards medium color
165 yards light color
Total: 550 yards
