Zanna Shawl
ZANNA SHAWLS PROMO -- If you’ve already purchased the fingering-weight Zanette Shawl, that purchase will be deducted upon checkout of the Zanna Shawl from the bundled price ($6.50). If you want both shawls and have not yet purchased either, I suggest purchasing the Zanna Shawls Set ebook.
The Zanna Shawl pairs two skeins of Miss Babs’ luxurious, DK-weight Kunlun to make an accessory that can be worn as either a shallow shawl or a drapey scarf. Kunlun is a roundly spun yarn with abundant sheen, body, and definition—you’ll enjoy every stitch. The striking lace border is knit first, and then a second color is added to shape the shawl body with garter stitch and simple short rows. Use two tonal shades, or toss in a highly variegated skein for the shawl body, where the ever-changing stitch count helps prevent pooling.
This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.
Recommended Yarn:
Miss Babs Hand-Dyed Yarns Kunlun — 70% Merino / 15% cashmere / 15% silk — 280 yds (256 m) per 125 g.
Shawl takes one skein each of two different colorways and will take most of both skeins — approx. 560 yds (512 m) in total.
Shown in Saffron and Blackwatch (yellow and blue sample) and in Dusk and Mystery Girl (purple and variegated sample).
Sizing:
69” (175 cm) long and 15” (38 cm) at deepest point.
Gauge:
18 sts and 26 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st, and 18 sts and 30 rows to 4” (10 cm) in garter st (fabric on smaller needles and strongly blocked in both measurements).
PLEASE NOTE: Pattern is not dependent on gauge, but changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used. To meet these dimensions and ensure enough yarn, be certain to use needle size that gives gauge.
Needles:
US 6 (4 mm) circular needle (or size that gives gauge), at least 32” length — also US 8 (5 mm) needle (or needle two sizes larger than main needle) for bind off.
Other Materials:
14 stitch markers, 2 more removable stitch markers (optional), yarn scale, tapestry needle.
Pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited.
Many thanks to Miss Babs Hand-Dyed Yarns for their support!
