Some kids’ personalities cry out for clothing that keeps up with their vibrance. This sweater features a wrap-around lightning bolt that makes a statement from all angles.

It is a top-down, seamless, raglan sweater with a comfortable, classic fit. The pattern offers two options for both cuffs and hem: 2x2 ribbing (with pointers for a super-stretchy bind-off) and hemmed.

To knit this sweater, you must already know a technique for intarsia-in-the-round. Only the basic instructions and motif chart are given and you must choose and execute your favorite technique with no additional instruction.

Errata:

Page 2, bottom-- Yarn requirements given reflect the total yarn, both MC and CC, needed for this pattern. The Zap motif itself (in CC) will use between 1/4 and 1/2 a ball of the Cascade 220 (therefore 55-110 yards / 50-100m), depending on your intarsia in-the-round technique (for instance, if you leave weaving-in yarn tails at the beginning and end of every intarsia row, you’ll use much more yarn than others, possibly more than 1/2 a ball). In most cases this will not affect the number of MC balls/skeins you’d have to buy, but could. The size 2 Zap motif uses only 3 fewer rows of the chart than the other sizes, so the difference in yarn requirement for the CC is insignificant. Apologies for this omission.

Page 6, inset box “A note about increases”-- The blanket statement that each increase row will result in 8 sts increased is strictly not correct. During the neck back rise section while you’re knitting flat, you’ll increase 10 sts per increase row: 2 sts around each of 4 markers, then 1 st at each end. After you join the neck front sections and begin knitting in the round for the main raglan increase section, you’ll increase 8 sts per increase round: 2 sts around each of 4 markers.

Page 6, bottom chart of stitch counts -- Neck back, size 6 should have 42 stitches (pattern reads 41).

Page 7, near top, joining for knitting in the round-- Text says “kft.” Should read “kfb.”
