Zebrafish
The zebrafish (Danio rerio) is an important and widely used vertebrate model organism in scientific research. It is particularly notable for its regenerative abilities, and is commonly used for studies of vertebrate development and gene function. It is also one of the few fish species to have been sent into space.
Please note, this pattern contains many colour changes, which makes it somewhat fiddly - so it is not recommended for beginners. I have included a lot of photos in the instructions to help illustrate the more difficult parts.
Finished dimensions are 11cm long, 7cm high.
You will need:
• DK yarn in light grey and dark blue
• 4mm and 3mm crochet hooks
• For eyes: black and white yarn, or black and white felt, or safety eyes, according to your preference. The example uses 12mm safety eyes.
• Yarn needle and stuffing.
The perfect pet for the geeky scientist in your life.
