Schortenbont of Zeeuws bont is een traditionele Zeeuwse stof die vroeger gebruikt werd voor de schorten die horen bij de Zeeuwse klederdracht. Wit, zwart, grijs en blauw zijn de kleuren van origineel schortenbont of Zeeuws bont.

Deze prachtige ingeweven patronen zijn mijn inspiratiebron geweest voor de Zeeuwse Tas. Omdat er tegenwoordig ook rood-wit schortenbont te koop is, heb ik rood als accent gebruikt bij deze tas.

Ik heb deze tas speciaal ontworpen voor mensen die net zoals ik een hekel hebben aan het naaien van voeringen voor een tas! Dit patroon past precies (mits de juiste steekverhouding is aangehouden) rond een jute Albert Heijn tas (l x b x h = 41 x 15 x 33 cm)!

De tas is gebreid met sokkenwol, maar kan natuurlijk ook gebreid worden met andere garens die dezelfde dikte hebben. De gebruikte kleuren en hoeveelheden zijn:
Regia sokkenwol: wit nr. 01992 – ca. 175g/438m
Trekking sokkenwol: zwart nr. 1710 – ca. 175g/455m
Merino Extrafine: rood nr. 00131 – ca. 25g/60m

The beautiful woven patterned aprons of the local folklore costumes of Arnemuiden have been my inspiration source to this black&white bag, the “Zeeuwse Tas”. Nowadays also red and white patterned fabrics are available, hence the red coloured accents on this bag.

It’s designed to fit (when knitted in gauge) around an Albert Heijn bag. (A shopping bag made of jute fabric which is sold by a Dutch supermarket, Albert Heijn.) The measurements of this bag are: l x w x h = 41 x 15 x 33 cm or approx. 16”x 6”x 13”). I designed this for people who, like me, totally dislike sewing interfaces for bags!

This bag is knitted with sock yarn, but it can easily be knit with other types of yarn of the same weight.
