As I was watching the final season of OITNB, there was a hat worn by Zelda, who Piper meets at the womens retreat with Neri. When they are sitting by the fire, Zelda is wearing a cabled hat. This was inspired by that hat.

Cables twist left, then right, with 5 rows between the cables.
Decreases are done in the purl sections, until they are decreased away.

Size is adjustable by increasing or decreasing by multiples of 10.
