Zen Garden Mosaic Square - Mushrooms
This pattern is for a mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.
Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.
This pattern uses a few colors for the mushroom stalks, as well as another color for the caps and one background color. You could use less colors if desired, but the instructions include the color changes. Variegated yarn would be a great option for the background as well.
The optional spots on the red mushrooms are crocheted separately & sewn onto the completed square, along with the gills.
This is a great way to use up scraps! The background color takes approximately 2 oz of medium weight (#4) yarn, and the Red takes approx 1 oz. The other colors are around .5 oz or less.
Pattern is in US crochet terms.
