Construction: Shawl is begun with I-cord cast on, with alternating garter stitch and a fun, engaging slip-stitch pattern. Shawl is finished with an I-cord bind off.

Gauge: 19 sts x 24 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch.

Measurements: 57” wingspan, 28” depth at center spine.

Yarn: DK weight wool yarn in 2 contrasting colours.

Suggested yarn:
Sample 1: Main Color (MC): Spincycle Yarns Metamorphic (170g/400yds) in “Sky Blue” and Contrast Color (CC): Spincycle Yarns Dream State (50g/150yds) in “Light Years”. 1 skein Metamorphic and 3 skeins Dream State.

Sample 2: Main Color (MC): Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK (125g/219yds) in “Graphite” and Contrast Color (CC): Madelinetosh Tosh DK (115g/225yds) in “Mars in Retrograde”. 2 skeins each.
Yarn requirements: Sample 2: Approximately 170g/329yds in MC, 150g/324yds CC.

Suggested needles: US 7 36” or 40”circular needles - shawl is knit flat and a cord at least 36” long is recommended to hold all the stitches. Use needle size needed to get gauge.
