Zig-Zag Cabin Shawl
I am all about patterns that don’t require seaming, so I’ve always been a fan of the Log Cabin. While working on another shawl, I started wondering if there was a way to adapt it into a triangle to create a shawl, and this is the result.
This is a deceptively easy pattern that takes advantage of the gradient of the yarn, worked from both ends, to create an interesting effect. It looks like there is a zig-zag seam up the center, but there is no sewing required as it is created by picking up stitches as you add more to each side of the shawl.
This pattern can be easily adjusted to be as big or small as desired since you repeat the same two sections until you’re done. It can also be easily adjusted to whatever yarn weight you want to use since gauge isn’t super important.
If you have any questions, comments, or feedback on this pattern, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I have no delusions that the patterns I write are perfect.
